Next-generation Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B)

• Automatic: Send information periodically without the need of pilot or operator input.
• Dependent: Position and velocity is derived from Global Positioning System (GPS) or Flight Management System (FMS).
• Surveillance: Detect the location of an aircraft, vehicle, others, and itself.
• Broadcast: Transmits information that can be used by anyone with appropriate receiving equipment.
